Privacy
Hello Shade makes custom window shades. This page explains what our website, iPhone app, App Clip and texts collect and why.
The app and App Clip
- We use your camera only to show shades on your window, live, on your phone. Camera images are processed on your device and are never uploaded or stored by us.
- The app does not create an account, track you, or show ads.
- If you tap "Text a designer", your phone's Messages app opens with a message describing the shade you picked. Nothing is sent unless you press send.
The website
- If you give us your first name and mobile number, we use them only so our team can text you about your shades. We don't sell or share them.
- If you ask for samples, we use your name, address and phone to mail them to you.
- If you use our measuring form, we use your measurements and window photos to check your numbers and make your shades.
- Your picks are saved in your browser so you don't have to start over.
Texting
- You start the conversation. Tapping "Text a designer" opens your phone's Messages app with your design. We only have your number if you choose to send that text, or give us your number yourself.
- We use your mobile number and messages only to help with your design, measurements, quote and order, and to send updates about your order. We keep the conversation to help with your order.
- We do not sell or share your mobile number or texting consent with third parties or affiliates for marketing purposes.
- Texting opt-in data and consent are never shared with any third party. The service providers listed below don't get them for their own use.
- Reply STOP at any time and we won't text you again. Reply HELP for help. Details are in our texting terms.
Payments
Payments are processed by Stripe. When you pay, you enter your card details on Stripe's secure page, and Stripe's privacy policy applies to that information. We don't see or store your full card number, and we never ask for card numbers by text.
Who we share information with
We don't sell your information. We share it only with the companies that help us run your order, and only as needed:
- the companies that make and ship your shades (your name, delivery address and order details)
- Stripe, to process your payment
- our business texting provider, to send and receive your texts
We may also share information if the law requires it.
Deleting your information
Text us at (201) 745-3300 and we'll delete anything we have about you, except records we're required to keep (for example, payment and tax records).
